大理 though small, is pretty interesting! The 苍山 is massive! We didn’t make a trip up as it was raining on the day we arrived. We didn’t see the point of paying so much $$$ just to take the cable car up the mountain. It is a pretty sight, from the old town though!
The bus ride from Dali to Lijiang was pretty rough. Bad bus condition. Not worth the RMB55 each that we paid for. The road was bumpy and there were flies in the bus. And not to mention, it stinks too. Pretty annoying!
I was really glad when we arrived at our accommodation in Lijiang! It’s a new hotel opened by Alvin’s friend’s friend! It’s not officially opened for operations yet. Most of the rooms are taken up by friends of friends, etc! The boss of the hotel said we can pay any amount we want! Everything’s new and we were the first to use the bath, the towels, the bed, etc! The boss is a really friendly and hospitable guy. Another friend of his paid for dinner last nite.

This afternoon, we had a home cooked lunch! We went to the wet market to get the meat and vegetables and the guests here took turns to cook a dish each! I think I’m gonna stay here for a bit longer!
While the rest were cooking, the others were just hanging outside the guest house, chatting!
青猫 made pork ribs with Pepsi! It taste surprisingly good!!!
After lunch, the brother and the guy from Guangzhou, and me, we went for a walk around the 古城.

We had dinner here the nite before!
Didn't try this though we have been seeing this very often!

Wanzi 万子 in Chinese means thousand sons. It was built by a rich man who desired a son.

The wall around the '城门'. There is actually no 城门 in Lijiang! The family that was ruling Lijiang was surnamed 木。 If there's a 门 around 木, it means being trapped 困 (in Chinese).
We went into KFC for some tarts!
Apparently, the Dongba script is currently only written in Lijiang.

It didn't taste good. We didn't like it and didn't attempt to finish it, not even the brother who eats everything and doesn't like to waste food!
The Lost Corner 遗忘的角落
Somehow I like the name, and the feel of the place! I think it has a sad story behind it!
Am a little homesick though! This holiday seems to be a little long …
I guess I have sorted my feelings and emotions. It’s probably time to take my life a bit more seriously!
